The Amazing Spider-Man
What we’ve all been calling Spider-Man 4 or the Spider-Man reboot has been finalised as The Amazing Spider-Man, taking it back to its comic books roots once again. Out in 2012, The Amazing Spider-Man resets the clocks for the storyline in cinemas and brings a whole new cast to take on the wight of the webbed wonder.
Scheduled for a release date of 3rd July 2012 with 3D production build in throughout, The Amazing Spider-Man introduces Andrew Garfield (The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus) to the all new Spider-Man suit.
The film has also cast Rhys Ifans (Greenburg) as Doctor Kurt Conners, The Lizard, who first made an appearance in the comic book of the same name in #6. The rumour is that Irrfan Khan will be playing the Goblin too.
The Amazing Spider-Man will take Peter Parker back to his teenage, high-school past, but with talk of a darker plot for the new series, don’t expect it to be a High School Musicathon.
With the script by James Vanderbilt and directorial credits from Marc Webb who first came to prominence with (500) Days of Summer, The Amazing Spider-Man sounds like it’s getting a fresh slate for web spinning action. See all of the latest The Amazing Spider-Man images.
