Greenwood and Brown, Cardiff

Greenwood and Brown, CardiffA fairly recent addition to the Cardiff restaurant mix, Greenwood and Brown does a lot to add a bit more diversity to food available in the capital city. It’s got a smart combination of traditional and contemporary decor and the atmosphere gives it a quiet buzz, making Greenwood and Brown an instant success.

It’s a little tucked away, and doesn’t exactly have amazing views, but it makes the most of the open air windows to give the restaurant a bright and cool feel, especially in the summer. The service is fast, friendly and happy to find the right seat for you, so you’re free to enjoy the great food that Greenwood and Brown is fast becoming known for.

Greenwood and Brown, Cardiff, kilo of musselsThe kilo of Welsh mussels has got to be one of their best dishes with the option to go for either the inspired SA Gold, pancetta, garlic, cream and parsley option or the more unconventional chilli, coriander, ginger and lime. Another highlight is the lemon & tarragon whole roasted poussin, which is about as tender as they come with great flavour.

There’s also a risotto of the day and a regularly refreshed specials board, which means there’s more than a few excuses to keep going back to Greenwood and Brown, even if you’ve managed to try everything on the menu, which is a bit of a rarity.
