Deap Vally’s debut album, Sistrionix, set for June release

Deap Vally SistrionixNew LA rock band, Deap Vally, are destroying the scene with power hooks and pounding drums, featuring brilliantly recently on Later… With Jools Holland. Their debut album, Sistrionix, is due out later this month and with comparisons to Black Keys and Jack White it should be a hard hitting combination of blues, rock and a little wild metallic flare.

They’ve already got a couple of single releases under their belts, including last year’s debut, Gonna Make My Own Money. However, our shout for track of the album is Baby I Call Hell, which has got the kind of instantly memorable deep dark riff that gave the White Stripes such an impactful series of hits. Listen to the demo video below. It’s a little rough around the edges, but it’s bound to get a supped up re-recording for the album. If the live set of it on Jools Holland is anything to go by it could turn out to be one of the summer’s biggest rock tracks.

Their second single, End of the World, was released on the 4th October 2012 and it’s another hard rocking dirty guitar track to fill your boots with.

The duo is made up of Lindsey Troy on guitar and lead vocals, and Julie Edwards smashing the drums. They’re both from the sunny side of the San Fernando Valley in California and come together to create some hard rock tracks. Having formed in 2011, they will be releasing Sistrionix on the 24th June 2014.

They’re also playing a number of UK gigs this year, including tagging in with Kaiser Chiefs for their Eden Sessions on the 29th June 2013, T In the Park on the 11th July, Reading Festival on the 23rd August and Leeds Festival on the 24th August.
